'Lemon and Lime'
This is the fifth, and what turned out to be the final of my Focus on Fruit Still Life Series completed in February. I'd hoped to get 6 done across the month, but I just ran out of time. It was again executed in Daler Rowney Graduate Oil Paints on Arches Huile Paper, measuring 20 x 20 cms.

'Tangerine'
In february I decided to try and work in series and thought I'd try to return to fruit still lives in oil for the first of these themed months, where I will produce a series of similar or themed works. This tangerine painting was the first of the February Focus on Fruit Still Life series and was executed in Daler Rowney Graduate Oil Paints on Arches Huile Paper measuring 20 x 20 cms.

'Draycote Water, January'
Another charcoal drawing was inspired by a photograph that I took while out on a New Year's Day walk around Draycote Water with my partner. The low sunlight at midday was causing the landscape to be a series of silhouetted banks of trees and sparkling water. A very naturally monochromatic landscape perfect for capturing in charcoal to my mind.

'Freckles'
As I moved from 2025 into 2026 I was using charcoal quite a bit and for larger work than my usual small sizes. This was partly inspired by the title of an Exhibition in the new arts community that had opened in Leaminton Spa - Stoneleigh Arms. The exhibition title was 'Emergence' and I was wanting to create a portrait emerging out of chaotic scribbles. In reality my tightness took over and this quite precise portrait of a girl with Freckles emerged. It was however, accepted for the exhibition.
